Why merge PDF files
Most systems accept one attachment, not seven. Merging a signed contract, its annexes and the supporting invoices into a single PDF means the recipient reads them in the order you intended instead of guessing which file comes first. It also survives forwarding: one file cannot arrive incomplete the way a set of separate attachments can.
About in-browser merging
Merging happens locally. Your PDFs are read in the page you already have open and combined into a new document there, so nothing is uploaded and no credit is spent. The trade-off is structural rather than visual: because the output is a freshly assembled document, page content carries over but document-level features such as bookmarks, named destinations, form definitions and internal links are not guaranteed to be rebuilt. For files that lean on those, check the result — or use Cloud Merge when a job is simply too large for the browser to hold in memory.
